About the Instructors and Institute


Jeff Tate is the chief instructor and founder of the American Russian Martial Art Institute.  His qualifications include American military training in Russian Martial Art and Systema.  He has 40 years experience in the Russian fighting systems, and has been teaching Russian Martial Art since 2004.

Cheryl Pandrea is an instructor.  She has been training in Russian Martial Art at the American Russian Martial Art Institute since 2008 and assisting in instructing since 2011. 

Titto Ridley is an instructor in training.  He has been training in Russian Martial Art at the American Russian Martial Art Institute since 2010. 

Courtney Hall is an instructor in training.  She has been training in Russian Martial Art at the American Russian Martial Art Institute since 2013. 

American Russian Martial Art Institute, formerly named U-Protect Russian Martial Art and Self-Protection, was founded in 2004.  The location, formerly on Fulton Road in Canton, OH, is now in the Canton South area.  The American Russian Martial Art Institute offers a variety of classes not previously offered at U-Protect.
